Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia confirms that a Pakistani army helicopter carrying foreign diplomats and spouses crashed at Naltar Valley, Pakistan earlier this morning. The Helicopter was carrying foreign diplomats and spouses on an official programme organized by the Government of Pakistan.
During the incident, The Norwegian, Netherlands and Philippines Ambassador, together with the wife of Indonesian Ambassador and Datin Habibah Mahmud, wife of the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, had perished in the incident.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia to Islamabad, Dato’ Dr. Hasrul Sani Mujtabar survived the incident and currently being treated in Gilgit Hospital. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad is currently making efforts to obtain a full report on the incident.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to convey our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the incident.
